











The Robin is the quintessential British bird and unlike the American robin is a symbol of Christmas. This fellow is a year round visitor to our garden though and is very friendly. Not at all skittish, especially when we’re weeding and digging up lots of nice grubs and worms.

One of the most common birds in the British garden is the common Magpie. This fellow followed me around as I mowed the lawn and built little piles of grass clippings that he then carried off for nest building. Oil on Board. 8” x 10” . Original for sale £60 unframed.

There is a rather large flock of these colourful birds in residence at the small lake in Petersfield, mixing with their Canadian cousins and a reasonable number of swans and moorhens.
